Bunting is thrilled to announce their support for the Dads, Uncles and Brothers of children supported by Tŷ Hafan as they take on the #10nTaff challenge.

Tŷ Hafan is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers care to children and support for their families, throughout Wales.  The hospice offers comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families in the hospice, in the community and in their home so they can make the most of the time they have left together. The families of all the men taking on the challenge have received or are receiving support from the hospice.

The Tŷ Hafan Challenge

The #10nTaff challenge is not for the faint-hearted.  Between 30th June and 2nd July 2022 (rescheduled from 2020 due to the coronavirus crisis), and within the timeframe of 55 hours, the men intend to climb the five highest mountains in North Wales, then scale the five highest mountains in South Wales, before cycling 52 miles off-road from Brecon in Mid Wales to Cardiff Bay in South Wales.  More details about the challenge are available on their 5in55 10nTaff website.

“We sponsored the group when they took on their #5in55 challenge in 2018, which was an incredible success” explained Simon Ayling, Bunting’s European Managing Director.  “We had no hesitation when asked to sponsor the new challenge.”

Paul Fears, Bunting’s Press Officer, is one of the men taking on the challenge after completing the 5in55 in 2018.

“Every man taking on the challenge has a story to tell,” said Paul.  “In fact, taking on the challenge is more than raising money or awareness of Tŷ Hafan.  Training for and then taking part in the challenge provides a platform for the Dads, Uncles and Brothers to talk about their situations, something that doesn’t come easy to most men.”

The 2018 5in55 challenge was a resounding success, raising over £40,000.  The team was also crowned the Just Giving Fundraising Team of Year 2018.

“Taking on the #10nTaff challenge is impossible without support from sponsors like Bunting,” said Paul.  “We cannot thank them enough.  Now, all we’ve got to do is climb 10 mountains and cycle 52 miles in 55 hours!”
